The Law Journal hosted its most recent Law Symposium, "From Seed to Stomach: Food and Agricultural Law," on January 21, 2011 at Northeastern University.
The Symposium welcomed distinguished panels of attorneys, policy-makers, and legal scholars who discussed topics ranging from the intellectual property, ethical,
and health issues surrounding the patenting of seeds, farming methods, and live animals, to issues concerning the labeling and marketing of food and organic certification,
to the future of the food safety legislation and obesity litigation, to the social implications of food policies.

The Law Journal's January 21, 2011 Symposium on Food and Farming Law became the first law school symposium covered by C-SPAN.
Video clips from the Symposium are now featured online, in C-SPAN's Congressional Chronicle video library.
The coverage includes video of panelists discussing the FDA's history and operations, litigation issues surrounding foodborne illnesses, obesity,
food distribution and preparation, and using litigation to produce social change.

At the symposium, legal practitioners from across the nation came together to share ideas about the legal policies and practices that would best facilitate a successful emergence from the crisis.

The Northeastern University Law Journal hosted a Symposium on issues related to the representation of Guantanamo Bay detainees. At the Symposium, practitioners who have represented or are representing Guantanamo detainees presented their unique experiences; namely, the trials and tribulations they encountered within the various legal fora in which they worked.
