About the Journal

The Northeastern University Law Journal is a student-run publication that emphasizes the practical application of the law.

Each year, the Journal selects a topic to focus its publication on and then solicits articles from top practitioners in the chosen field. This model provides an academic forum for the topically selected pieces. To commence the publication process of each Volume, the Journal holds a symposium on the current topic and invites the authors and other practitioners to debate relevant legal issues. Beginning in the fall of 2011, the Journal will also publish a second volume each year which is a general issue volume featuring articles on various topics.

This symposium informs the legal community of the range of issues, viewpoints, and resolutions within a single topic. The symposium is open to the Northeastern community, the legal community, and the general public.

Student editors make all editorial and organizational decisions and carry out the day-to-day operations of the Journal.

In addition to the articles written by practitioners, the Journal invites contributions in the form of notes and comments from students at Northeastern Law.
